About Us

We are a professional, confidential and independent counselling service open to everyone aged 18 and above, regardless of race, religion, sexuality, gender or financial status.

We serve the community of Petersfield, Bordon and the surrounding areas with counselling taking place  in venues in Petersfield.

We offer counselling in the early evening in Petersfield Hospital, Monday to Thursday, and for daytime sessions The Centre and Sacred Heart Church Bordon

We are a UK Registered Charity, no. 298408, and were founded in 1987 at the initiative of the churches and medical and caring professions in Petersfield.  PCS is very grateful for the support it has received from local faith communities but it has no religious affiliations.

We are an organisational member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a listed charity in The Counselling Directory

In all our work, we abide by the Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions of the BACP

The organisation is administered by a team of experienced professional counsellors.   A board of Trustees representing the local community are responsible for overall governance of the charity.

All our counsellors have undertaken professional training in counselling to at least Diploma level.     In addition, we offer placements to carefully selected students who are in the final stages of their training.

Our policies include strict compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018, and the Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults/Persons.
